Suit with Pakka Tanka, Kacha Tanka, Shadow Work
Tahira is a resident of Khudadad Colony in Multan. With a soul of a phoenix, Tahira rises strong and meets each challenge with grace. Suffering from a liver disease, yet through sheer grit and determination Tahira managed to get her bachelor’s degree from Allama Iqbal Open University. After bachelor’s Tahira pursued one year diploma to learn the art of net work, tarkashi, applique work, cross stitch and various types of tankas. Life was going by, Tahira got married. Then within two years of the marriage her husband passed away. Tahira filled the void by stitching up her own home-based business. It has been about 10 years now, Tahira has created an integrated network of 200 artisans working with her that is spread throughout Punjab. Tahira shares that monetary security is not her soul driving force but rather to showcase that health issues do not define an individual. It is their work, it is their values that shine through. Tahira walks life with purpose for herself as much as for all the women who might feel constrained due to a health issue.
